Artist Statement

The seen and the experienced: patterns, ornamentation, time of day, humidity, art, shadows on the wall, friends, family, music,
sunlight pouring in through old glass; creating  colors on the walls, humble landscapes in the morning or late afternoon, bits of
patterned pottery found when turning over the soil in my garden or sifting through sand on the beach. These things distill into
what I make.  I am sometimes conscious, other times unconscious and unknowing.
